The National Road Safety Conference is Road Safety GB’s flagship annual event. The conference moves around the country and is hosted and organised each year by a Road Safety GB Regional Group or Groups.
A record number of people (330) attended the 2018 National Conference in Brighton, which in recent years has attracted delegates from across the UK and much further afield including Ireland, Belgium, Trinidad & Tobago and Romania.
Delegates comprise local authority road safety officers, police and fire & rescue officers, central government departments, academics and representatives from other road safety stakeholder organisations in the private and third sectors.

With the National ANPR Service (NAS) embedding in law enforcement, this focus of this year’s National ANPR Conference will be managing the evolving landscape as we move into the final phase delivery of this new national capability.
The conference will focus on the opportunities for innovation in the use of ANPR across law enforcement, delegates will have the opportunity to see ANPR technology in action applied to intelligence, investigation and public protection.
Speakers have been specifically selected to support the theme of this year’s conference, with presentations, workshops and interactive plenary sessions planned.
The conference will be relevant for senior investigators who want to understand how to exploit ANPR capability and incorporate it into their investigation strategies; for public protection officers who want to make better use of ANPR in tackling cross boundary issues affecting those at risk and intel managers in the exploitation of ANPR alongside other data sources, as well as those tasked with the strategic and operational management of ANPR within forces and other LEAs.

Joining the Dots is the national conference for the road safety data analyst community and is hosted by Road Safety GB. The conference, which will be organised by Road Safety GB in partnership with Road Safety Analysis, has now become established as an annual event and will return for 2019 with the theme ‘The Transformative Power of Data’.
